The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) – A Global Platform for Open Cooperation and Win-Win Development
The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be grandly held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from November 5 to 10, 2026. Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shanghai Municipality, and organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., the expo is supported by international organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). As the world's first national-level expo themed on imports, CIIE has adhered to the theme of "New Era, Shared Future" since its founding in 2018. It has become a core platform for China to expand high-level opening-up and promote global economic and trade cooperation, attracting a total of 180 countries, regions, and international organizations to participate, with intended transaction volume exceeding 500 billion US dollars, serving as an important bridge connecting China and the world.
Building on the advantages of previous sessions, the 9th CIIE will further optimize the exhibition layout and improve the exhibition quality. The total exhibition area is expected to exceed 360,000 square meters, gathering more than 3,000 overseas exhibitors, including over 290 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders. It covers six core exhibition areas: Medical Equipment and Healthcare, Automobile and Smart Mobility, Technology and Equipment, Consumer Goods, Agricultural Products and Food, and Service Trade, as well as an Innovation and Incubation Zone, comprehensively displaying cutting-edge global technologies, high-quality products, and high-end services.
Each exhibition area has distinct highlights: The Automobile and Smart Mobility Zone, themed "Mobility ∞", focuses on the green, intelligent and sustainable new mobility ecosystem, displaying cutting-edge achievements such as new energy vehicles, autonomous driving technologies and flying cars; The Medical Equipment and Healthcare Zone, centered on "Healthy China, Healthy Life", gathers world-class medical equipment, innovative drugs and aging-friendly health services to support the implementation of the "Healthy China 2030" strategy; The Technology and Equipment Zone, with the initiative of "Equipping Tomorrow Together", focuses on displaying innovative breakthroughs in digital industrial automation, artificial intelligence, new materials, low-carbon energy and other fields; The Consumer Goods Zone, focusing on "Better Quality, Better Life", presents characteristic products in home appliances, beauty and personal care, fashion and other fields, creating a global launch pad for new products; The Agricultural Products and Food Zone, themed "From Global Farms to Chinese Dining Tables", brings high-quality global fruits and vegetables, dairy products, wines and other products, realizing "72-hour global delivery" relying on intelligent cold chain technology; The Service Trade Zone focuses on digital trade, financial services, cultural and creative industries, promoting the upgrading of cross-border service cooperation.
The 9th CIIE will continue to strengthen the trade matching function, holding more than 1,200 supporting activities, including supply-demand matching meetings, industry forums and new product launches, building an efficient communication bridge for global exhibitors and purchasers, helping enterprises tap the potential of the Chinese market and expand global cooperation space. At the same time, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum will be held simultaneously, inviting authoritative guests from government, business and academic circles to conduct in-depth discussions on core topics such as the open world economy, the resilience of global industrial and supply chains, and digital economy and green development, releasing relevant industry reports and cooperation initiatives to further enhance the international influence of CIIE.
